The Argument Clinic

weekend…

September 10th, 2007

My weekend was ok, spent most of saturday doing homework, but finished it, so at least the time spent was productive.  Then sunday, I went to church in the morning, did some reading and watched some tv I had recorded.  It was oscar wilde night on turner classic movies on saturday so had recorded a few movies.  Watched a version of the picture of dorian gray from 1945 that I didn’t care for much, didn’t think the casting or the acting was particularly impressive.  Donna Reed does not belong in oscar wilde under any circumstances, in my opinion.  Have decided that it is a story that is more enjoyable to read than watch though.

Also watched a 1944 version of the canterville ghost (also oscar wilde…though different from his usual style of writing) that I enjoyed, thought it was entertaining, which is the primary purpose of that story really, in my opinion.  Thought margarent o’brien was good in her role.

Am currently working my way through how green was my valley, picked it up at the library the other day.  Is an interesting read so far, will see if I have time to finish it with everything else going on right now.
