So my parents bought a new puppy yesterday and brought her up so I could see her (also brought her by my grandma’s). She is a very cute, cuddly and sweet puppy (and she actually listens to you!). My favorite picture that I took of her is below, and you can see the rest of them here.

If you aren’t in my immediate family you probably thought what the heck is a darcmonster?  Well, that is what my family calls my parent’s 9 year old english springer spaniel (darcmonster, monst or monster, that is….actual name is darcy though).  She was put to sleep this morning, she was in a lot of pain so it was time, though the problems she was having came up rather quickly.  I didn’t think I would be sad (because I wasn’t really close to the dog), but I am tearing up a little as I write this post.

Bye monster, you were a very silly and strange dog…you could see squirrels a half mile away but didn’t understand that the chair in front of you was not out to get you…and you never did understand how to wag your little tail properly :)  It will be weird going to my parent’s for thanksgiving and not having you barking your head off at me unnecessarily (until you see its me!)…and even weirder not to have to share the air mattress with you (or were you sharing it with me?  pretty sure that was how it worked…).  My prayers are with my mom and dad as they adjust to not having her and her silliness around anymore, always sad to lose a pet.

So friday val and i went to see the prestige. Good movie…I figured out the twists about halfway through the film, but still really enjoyed it. But how can you go wrong with hugh jackman AND christian bale in the same film?

Then yesterday I went with gill and jim to see stranger than fiction. Highly recommended! Very different kind of role for will ferrell, he was really good (some of his movies get a little too stupid for me sometimes). Enjoyed dustin hoffman and emma thompson’s characters as well. Really recommend checking this one out!
