oooh…exciting…
This is something I will be looking forward to! Loved LOTR, so I look forward to seeing what they will do with the Hobbit…and am curious who they will choose to direct it.

So as of monday I am finished with finals. Now I just need to wait around for my grades, but nothing I can do about it in the interim. Relief not to have to spend any more weekends of my life on chemical process analysis! Worst organized class ever!
After my final on monday, I passed out in exhaustion on my couch and watched tv. I watched the first part of the impressionists, a bbc documentary/drama (kind of combines both styles) about monet’s life. Stars richard armitage, so, based on recent posts you should be able to guess what the initial draw was
So far I find it very interesting, not a time period/subject I know much about it, but it is well done so I am looking forward to finishing it off sometime this week.
Yesterday I went out to dinner with anna, sue, and jen to celebrate my birthday (this coming monday), had a really good time, as usual
Today is our holiday christmas lunch at work. Other than that, not too much going on with me this week, which is a welcome relief considering how busy I’ve been preparing for finals and such.
That’s it for now…
So I took my final for Aquatic chemistry yesterday, not sure how it went (never really sure about finals), so will have to wait and see how the grade comes out.
My other final (chemical process analysis) is on monday and I am really not looking forward to that. I fully expect to look at the first problem and think “oh crap, have we learned how to do this? I think I’ll try the next one and come back to this” This process will continue until I reach the last problem and realize I don’t, in fact, know how to do any of them, so will need to suck it up and start making up answers that look like they could get me some points. That is an accurate description of what happened on the midterm and I fully expect the final to be much worse. This class has been my least favorite (in my entire academic career)…extremely poorly organized, with no feedback on how I have been doing at all. The textbooks don’t cover the material either so studying is a challenge. Oh well, just counting down to monday.
Tonight I am going to dinner with Val (we both have December birthdays so are going out together to celebrate) and then we are going to watch white christmas (one of my favorite christmas movies!). Tomorrow night my parents and I are going to see amahl and the night visitors at my church, which I am looking forward to. Most of the rest of my weekend will be spent in the extremely futile effort of studying for my upcoming final. But after that I will be able to actually read things I enjoy for a change - back to brothers karamazov, most likely
Ok, so if you have talked to me recently, chances are you have already heard too much about this mini-series, but oh well. I just recently watched the bbc mini-series north and south (have watched it 4 times in the past week…), it came out in ‘04, sometimes I get behind on movies that come out from bbc though. Anyways, it stars richard armitage, who is now officially my favorite actor of all time (far surpassing colin firth in pride and prejudice, which I didn’t think possible) :) He is an amazing actor (and definitely not bad on the eyes!), so I am very much looking forward to catching up on his other work (such as the bbc robin hood series). Originally saw him in the vicar of dibley series finale, enjoyed him in that though it doesn’t really compare to his role in north and south. Unfortunately, some of his work hasn’t been released in the US, so the dvds I can actually get a hold of are somewhat limited compared to what is released in the UK.
Anyway, if you are a fan of british period romances (which I am) then I highly recommend checking this one out if you haven’t already seen it!
Other than watching this movie in my limited free time lately, I have been studying for finals, which I finish up next week. Can’t wait! That will leave me with way more time to watch this series again!
I saw the movie enchanted this past weekend and really enjoyed it. Cute, funny, no-brainer-type movie. What I needed as a break from work and classes. Amy Adams (main character) is way too good at acting like a disney princess though
Recently watched take the money and run, an old woody allen comedy, which was really funny, I recommend it
Also watched the thin man, which I can’t believe I never got around to seeing because myrna loy is one of my favorite actresses - also a fun movie!
Other than making time to watch a few movies to clear my head, I have mostly been studying, doing homework, and preparing for end of the year work stuff. Hence my not posting on here much. I am really looking forward to next semester when I have 1 class. Less than 2 weeks left until this semester is done though, so that’s something to look forward to! Then I can work on processing the fact that it’s almost christmas, though the little amounts of snow we have gotten have helped some
