The Argument Clinic

busy, busy….

January 25th, 2008

So my corrosion class starts this week, don’t expect it to be too bad in terms of workload.  However, I will more than make up for that with the amount of studying I need to do for the PE (professional engineer) exam, which I just found out I can take in April.  It’s an 8 hour exam that covers all areas of environmental engineering, including some areas (air pollution, wastewater) that I haven’t really looked at in years.  My job has just been focused in other areas, so lots of review required.  So I expect to be reading various textbooks every day between now and april, already started this week.

So, in other words, I expect to be even worse about remembering to post on here than I usually am…though I will try.

That’s it for now…

2008 movies…

January 9th, 2008

So I realized a little while ago that there are a lot of movies I am looking forward to in 2008…this is just the list I can think of off the top of my head: dark knight, prince caspian, indiana jones, sex and the city, get smart, mummy 3 (not really sure if this is theater or netflix-worthy), the time traveler’s wife (enjoyed the book, so curious about this one), and harry potter 6.  Luckily of those listed so far, only harry potter 6 comes out next fall, which is good because I expect to have very little time to fit in movies next fall (if both the classes I need are offered then).  I may be forgetting something in that list…but that’s what I can think of now.  Hope it doesn’t grow much past that cause movie tickets aren’t too cheap!

updates…finally…

Sorry for the delay in posting over the holidays, have been busy recovering from my semester finally ending!  Just found out my grades this weekend, A in aquatic chem and B in chemical process analysis (YAY! well enough to be reimbursed!), so now I can settle in for the next couple weeks and continue to appreciate my very welcome break.  Never used to be the type of student to be happy about a B, but when balancing full time work with 2 classes, one of which is taught extremely poorly, shifts your priorities a bit.

In a couple weeks my corrosion class starts, which I am actually looking forward to.  Should be interesting/useful.

Had a nice holiday, spent the saturday before christmas will my sister, jim, and iain and had a really nice time :)   Worked for a bit on christmas eve, was extremely quiet here at work, then went to my grandma’s for a little while.  Then my parents came up to my place for christmas and we had a nice quiet day :)   Worked most of the rest of the week.

Spent new year’s eve watching some movies with my friend, val, and hanging out until a little after midnight (couldn’t make it much past that, was exhausted).  Watched freedom writers, which I liked, and rush hour 3, which was ok…liked the addition of the taxi driver, but was extremely predictable movie.

Have spent most of the rest of the past few weeks trying to relax as much as possible before next semester.  Right now I am trying to get my sinus headache to go away…all these temperature fluctuations (60 something yesterday, when last week we had negative wind chills…plus the rain on and off today) are really messing with me…
